History

1997

Undoubtedly the year 1997 can be called the start of a new motorcycle community when a group of motor bikers from Vilnius Viršuliškės district, who had been sharing their interests in bikes and going on rides since 1995, started fixing their motorcycles together and also organizing rides round the city and other places. But the most important was a decision to set up their own bikers’ club instead of joining any other. So July in 1997 saw the creation of the Club Coat of Arms and its name. Still, we decided not to officially found the club and not to sew colors down as long as the new club would become strong enough to be called a Club.

1998

As the bikers’ group not only passed a time test and did not ceased to exist, on the contrary, even more like-minded bikers joined them, so they decided to make up the colors of the Club and start wearing them. It took some time to prepare the Club Rules and Colors, though on the last Saturday in September1998 the club named VORAI (Spiders) was established. To celebrate this event we threw a fest called Mini Bike Party 1998 in Viršuliškės district where the bikers from the three MC clubs participated as well as the bikers on their own.

1999

Several attempts to officially establish the Club in Municipality of the city came finally to a success in January. Since that we have been existing as a Public Organization – the motorcycling club VORAI (Spiders). The club attracted more new members, and we decided to follow the international biker clubs’ rules and become an MC. The first clubhouse opened its door in Viršuliškės district. Having sewn down the appropriate colors raised a conflict with the rest biker clubs in Vilnius as in order to fit the rules of that time in Vilnius a new club was expected to go through one-year testing. After two weeks of negotiations our club agreed to meet the requirement of one-year testing and then to become an MC. Because of this we took rides with the previous colors over the whole year. That year Bikers’ Tourney 1999 took place in Viršuliškės district and drew the bikers from all MC clubs in Vilnius of those days.

2000

The year 2000 was important with the concert on March 11 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania’s independence. It was called 10 Years of Freedom. That year we met the beginning of the riding season as an MC club, despite the fact some biker clubs were not satisfied by our joining the bikers’ community. To say farewells to our past we burnt the old colors and chose one way and for ever – to be VORAI MC (Spiders MC). In July Bikers’ Tourney 2000 took place in Viršuliškės district. Many other biker events happened and a new supporting club was established -Vorų broliai MCC (Spiders’ Brothers MCC – the first MCC club in Lithuania), also Section of the Youth Technical Creative Work called Voriukai (Little Spiders) in Vilnius.

2001

We started the year 2001 with a ride to Aukštadvaris (15 January, 2001) and establishing there two branches of the club Vorų broliai MCC (Spiders’ Brothers MCC) and Voriukai (Little Spiders). On March 11th an annual concert was organized to commemorate the Lithuania’s independence restoration day in the Pepsi-Zet Club where the singers from Norway M-Eternal and Borknagar performed their music. A three-day fest held to commemorate the day of Žalgiris battle brought together 500 bikers from Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and others.

While partying to meet New Year we set up so called Skulls’ Brotherhood which consisted of three clubs – Vorai MC, Midnight Ravens MC, and Strangers MC. On March 11th at an annually organized concert To Native Land 2002 we could saw such groups as Skyforger (LV), Diktatūra (LT), Obtest (LT) etc. On May 25th our club established one more branch Vorų broliai MCC (Spiders’ Brothers MCC) in Druskininkai. On July 13th the Skulls’ Brotherhood ran an annual traditional Bikers’ Tourney 2002. After the event the brotherhood broke up as having no future. The club came to the decision to never belong to any union. Some of the Club members became the first in Lithuania to wear “1%” stripes. On October 5th celebrating the Club’s birthday a new branch Vorų broliai MCC (Spiders’ Brothers MCC) was established in Akmenė after reforming and uniting the motorcycling club Griausmas (Thunder). And VORAI MC organized the first hangarounds in Druskininkai. In this resort town the Club bikers celebrated the New Year and set up here the branch Voriukai (Little Spiders).

In May we came up with an idea to put together all he branches of the Club in a three-day-long event and called it Vorų dienos (Spiders‘Days). As having no prospects, the branch Vorų broliai MCC in Aukštdvaris broke up. The annual Bikers’ Tourney 2003 was held in Zarasai and brought several thousand guests to it.
